Our Common Core Prep incorporates building the initial foundation to common core curriculum and introduces students to fundamental mathematics and English Language Arts material. In order to help your child prepare for standardized tests and common core curriculum, our teachers focus on basic mathematics operations, drills, word problems as well as reading comprehension, vocabulary building, grammar, and writing responses as appropriate to students' grade levels.

Our Statewide Test Prep focuses on building stronger common core foundations and introducing our students to test-taking strategies that will help them succeed when taking the annual Statewide exams as well as their school classes. We cover both mathematics and English Language Arts in our classes. Our math and ELA teachers focus on reviewing all academic material that are on grade level with each student as well as introducing students to more challenging applications of those grade-level concepts. Teachers provide interactive and engaging lessons that will allow for an in-depth understanding of the concept that will allowed the students to succeed academically well into the future.

 

Our Mark Twain Course is designed to help students be prepared and confident on the gifted & talented spectrum. Admission into prestigious schools such as Mark Twain and Bay Academy requires students to choose up to two talents that they perform best at and take the exams on one day. Our Mark Twain prep course targets 3 of Mark Twain's entrance exams subjects: Computer Mathematics, Creative Writing, and Science. Our seasoned teachers teach complex multi-step mathematical problem solving, puzzle and logic questions, as well as pattern recognition. We provide 3 full-length mock exams for this course.

Our SHSAT program is specifically designed to prepare our students for the Specialized High School Admissions Test, which usually takes place at the end of October during students' 8th grade year. The SHSAT is the sole criterion for admission to eight of the nine specialized high schools in New York City. The test is split into two parts and assesses students' mathematics and English Language Arts skills. Our teachers, who are experts in their field with years of experience, teach algebra, geometry, word problems, logical reasoning, reading comprehension, critical thinking, and writing and language skills. We use proven, score-raising strategies that are designed to help maximize available test-taking techniques and test results.

School Students

Our PSAT/SAT course focuses on preparing our students for the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) which is the most widely used college admissions exam composing of three sections: Critical Reading, Writing and Language, and Mathematics. Our teachers are SAT test prep specialists who will work with students to review academic material needed to succeed on achieving a high score and will teach test taking strategies that will help your child practice test-taking strategies and time management skills.

Our one-of-a-kind College Planning course offers a variety of educational consulting that will help your child choose the right college. We offer educational consultation on early college guidance, college application processing, filing for financial aid and scholarships, resume writing, and interview training. We work closely with student to fine-tune their college essays and bring out each student's best aspects through essay writing and mock interviews. We will review your child's application with them until it meets their high expectations.
